We’ll be playing contra dances in Winston-Salem, Asheville, and Durham during the week.  Monday and Saturday, we’ll be stopping in Pennsylvania for house concerts and jam sessions.

We’re really excited about this trip; it’s our first chance to connect with the vibrant contra dance community “down south.”  Come to a dance (if you live there), and tell your friends to come out as well!

On Friday, August 19, we’ll be at the Guiding Star Grange in Greenfield with David Kaynor calling.  Saturday the 20th, we’ll be at the Capital City Grange in Montpelier, and on the 21st we play in Cambridge at the BIDA third Sunday dance.

We’re really excited about these gigs, since it’s our first time playing at any of these venues.  We had a blast playing in Burlington, Nelson, and Brattleboro last summer, and hope to see some of the same folks out at these dances.

Playing on Dancing on the Air is a real treat for us. Northern Week at Ashokan is where most of Tunescape learned to love Quebecois and Swedish music, so playing on Jay and Molly’s radio show is a bit of coming full circle. The show airs at 8pm on Wednesday, July 13th on WAMC in the Albany, NY region, and is also carried live on the web.

We’re also excited about playing the NEFFA Thursday dance at the Scout House on July 14th.  This is our first time playing in the Boston area, so come on out and hear us!  Dan Pearl is calling. If you must miss us at the Scout House in July, you can catch us at the BIDA dance in late August.

While we always look forward to the energy of playing in Ithaca, we’re particularly psyched to play at Madison Hall.  Built in 1865 as the county courthouse, the building is on the National Register of Historic Places and has a beautifully renovated and restored ballroom.  Come on out for Tunescape and Sarah Van Norstrand; this is sure to be a fantastic event!

This is a contra dance to celebrate the last day of classes, and is rumored to be a “formal” event—so find your stylish (or ridiculous) clothing and come on out!  The dance is from 8-11pm.

The Pine Lake dance is always full of energetic students, so it’s sure to be a good time.
